Rockpile Rant continues to move up from number eight to number six to number five. Congrats to Julia for finally bumping RSBS. She's deserves it, she's the hardest working blogger here. Rockpile Rant continues to defy the odds and stay in the top ten despite no extra love...Attention to the four blogs in front of me: Spring training is coming and you better get your game on because I'll have both barrels blazing come the 24th...Congrats to all who made the top 50 and thank you for getting your daily dose of the Rant.

Wow,
I continue my backward one-step at a time movement. lol
Okay number 11.
I will have to give this one to the first Japanese born player, who has been credited with starting the wave of great Japanese players coming over to the MLB. Number 11 is the immortal Hideo Nomo, who won the National League Rookie of the Year award in 1995, after starting the All Star game that season. Nomo also played 13 years in the MLB, and twice led the league in strikeouts. He also threw 2 no-hitters, the first in Coors Field of all places on September 17, 1996 while with the L A Dodgers. He threw another no-no while with the Boston Red Sox on April 4, 2001 against the Baltimore Orioles.
So again, thank you to everyone who has glanced or pranced by my little page. I hope you enjoy it, because I am having fun doing it. And with that congrats to Julia for charging to the front and taking the top spot this posting. To everyone behind me...come on up the view is great, to those in front of me, I see you all and you are within range.........have an awesome week.

A few thoughts about the list:
- I can see from running the program that certain people have the capability to fall entirely off the list and then in a week's time get right back near the top. Witness V at http://flairforthedramatic.mlblogs.com -- she was commenting frequently on our Super Bowl liveblog on MLB.com Sunday night and many newcomers there found her blog. Again, the power of always including your full URL wherever you comment around the Internet, not just within the MLBlogosphere.
- Manoman benefited from being the blog blurb on the bottom of the MLB.com homepage this past week. It drove a lot of people to his blog at http://manoman.mlblogs.com -- and others can benefit by occasionally leaving a 10-20-word blurb here nominating yourself for that space. We have a crew that maintains that spot on the MLB.com homepage, and I've instructed them to keep an eye out here.
- It looks like we've kind of settled in at No. 16 here. I wish I could have been 16 this long in life. So far I have invoked the names of Abraham Lincoln and Joe Montana, and honestly I want to say something about college basketball and their Sweet 16. But I am too disgusted as an Indiana University alumnus over what has happened to the greatest college basketball program, so I have to change the subject. This is what they asked for when they got rid of Bobby Knight. The joke of college basketball, winless in the Big 10 that we once won every single year -- but, hey, we aren't offending anyone's sensibilities! So, we'll dedicate this one to 16 nations in the World Baseball Classic.

King of Cali: Congrats, you just gained two spots. Had to make a minor tweak to the bottom of the FAN list as I inadvertently included "Inside the Chiefs" (PRO blog) there and also one of our YES Network blogs (not part of MLBlogs Network).
Jen: Cool being 16, huh.

Oh my hey-soos. I'm back on the list, and at 14 no less.. not too shabby. I'm happy I finally have to post more frequently. [School has been beyond a pain in the butthole.] I hope I can keep it up and not fall off the list for months, as I managed to do, lol.
I'm glad this community is really growing here on MLBlogs too. It's a beautiful thing. :D

"Oh my hey-soos!" I have to use that one. Who's fired up about some MLB.TV??!! Looking for posts about the new MLB.TV subscriptions we just launched last night -- see my story on the homepages and blog about what you love about MLB.TV and how it changed your life being a part of the MLB.TV Generation since 2003! Leave comments here with URL if you post about it so we can highlight on MLBlogs.com.

Hi, Mark ...
You are making many great dedications in honor of the number 16 ... We are running out of 16's !!! ... But, I do have a dedication in mind if I have to make a future dedication in honor of that number ... Also, I totally agree with you, Indiana University never should have let Bobby Knight go ... Anyway, keep up the excellent work; and, have a great day !!! ... Jimmy [27NYY] ... http://baseballtheyankeesandlife.mlblogs.com/

Little did I know that you'd be requesting blogs about MLB.tv when I wrote mine this morning, Mark! It's the majority of the post...right after the picture of the mammoth. Oh, you'll want to read about the mammoth too. :)

Thanks, Jen, we used your post to highlight MLB.TV on http://www.mlblogs.com -- nice job! I don't know if you all have seen our new demo on the site for MLB.TV Premium, but it's killer. I got a look at the new player and the functionality and can't wait to use it this season here. A fan who read my story emailed and asked whether she should get Premium or basic .tv, and I told her that most people are gravitating to Premium because it is just too much fun to miss out on. By the way, if you all want to talk like we do here at the MLB HQ, you don't even need to say "MLB" when referring to this. We just say "dot TV" here and everyone knows what you're talking about. I mean, the MLB part is a given in our world, right?

how do you get the top 100 on your page?

heartbeatofthebronx: You had to have been in the Top 100 of all MLBlogs traffic by MLB PRO BLOG or FAN template in 2008. That full listing is in a year-end post here. Also, please include a blog URL wherever you go as I can't reach you otherwise.
