Got a great idea for you bloggers here at MLB.com. Want to interview a Major Leaguer straight from the comfort of your own computer, type his response to your question while he talks to you, and then immediately post it on your blog and share it across your social media? Get involved with our MLB.com Edward Jones Chatting Cage.

It’s made for fans like you. We have Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw in the cage at 2:30 p.m. ET today at our MLB.com studios in New York, and that’s a great time to try it out for yourself. The blog end of it is what puts the icing on the cake. You even get to embed the video of yourself interviewing the player.

For example, check out this video of “Matt from Cincinnati” interviewing “Mat (Latos) from Cincinnati):

The fan is sitting at his computer’s webcam talking to Latos. Take it one step further, and he could be typing while Latos is talking, and then immediately post his own transcript after the conversation. Then when we post the video that day on MLB.com, he could embed the clip and it makes a kickass post. Guaranteed that if you do that and leave the Permalink here on the community blog, we will promote it across MLB.com Blogs. In fact, first one to do it up right gets the #1 panel spot on http://MLB.com/blogs.

Can’t guarantee you will get to ask a player a question, as others here at MLB.com handle the cage when the players stop by, but be ready to go for it.
