2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this MLB.com community blog. Thanks to everyone and Happy New Year! Top 100 2013 bloggers list coming in the next week…

Here’s an excerpt:

19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 110,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Dang Mark, I made your top 5. That tells me you need to visit the Rant a little more often🙂 Happy New Year to you and the MLBlogs Staff whomever they may be.

Ha – great job in 2012. By the way, for you and many others who will be on the list, heads up that we are tallying the 2012 Top 100 MLB.com Blogs list and prepping it as quickly as we can, and we’ll be offering a new badge for all those who make the list. I expect to post that by the end of the week. Everyone be on the lookout…

I have a question for you regarding themes. Blogs like John & Cait… Plus Nine and Hot Stove have that special banner at the top. I am VERY interested in having one for 7000 Coliseum Way. Is it a feature just for pro bloggers, is it a custom feature, do you have to pay for it, or is there something else that I am missing? I would love to use it to enhance my blog!

Thanks for asking, Nick. At this time that is only available as an option for PRO bloggers who request it, as our MLBAM Design team creates those custom headers upon request and working with the blogger. Please note that we are seeking to add new MLB themes in 2013 and I will shout if and when there is any progress on that front.

Thank you for the clarification Mark! I can’t wait to see any new themes that come out!

It’s more on the “wish list” at this point, nothing in progress. Will advise if any development there.

Oh, I see… Sounds good!

A great year for MLBlogs, Mark. Good job by WordPress to put it all together for us. Here’s to a great 2013 for all of us!

This was a pretty fun thing that Word Press put together. Kind of fun to get all of the stats put together like this. Hopefully next year my stats will be even bigger.

Mark are you still doing the Meet the Bloggers video blogs. If so I’ll be at the Mariners Fan Fest at the end of January.

Happy New Year Mark and to the MLBlogs community as well! I love these WordPress stat compilations. So much fun! And I am amused to see I’m one of the top commentors — I mean I know I talk a lot, but that was extra fun to see.🙂 Anyway, I hope everyone has a greta holiday and I’m looking forward to another great year blogging the baseball season away in great company.

I love the “annual report”!! I was checking mine! I had done a post before Christmas about the stats and my top 10 in various categories. It was enlighten to me to check those stats. I love checking the stats in WordPress. Oh and I was your top commentaror even if If it was just by one comment! haha🙂 Happy New Year to you and everyone working to bring us news here. Happy New Year to all the MLB Bloggers here and those that used to post here. Love -Emma

Thanks for being the top commenter, Emma! And thanks for participating in our Meet the Bloggers video series! Everyone should scroll down and check that out if you haven’t seen it yet. ________________________________________

Got to admit, this “Annual Report” devised by WordPress.com was a genius idea. Not only does it give an interesting factoid as to our yearly page views ( mine was related to Lietchenstein), it showed so much other information that was informative and enlightening. Unbelieveable 370,000 people popped on my obscure page in the web-verse this year. Another great move by MLB Advance Media to move to this blogging community.
Wishing you and the entire staff at MLB Advanced Media a safe and terrific New Years celebration. Going to pop my last bottle of Rays 2008 celebration champagne tomorrow night at midnight to celebrate this great blogging year.

Happy New Year to you and yours, and great job as always building your following at Rays Renegade! Glad you came back in 2012. Enjoy. ________________________________________
