What’s up with the timestamps for comments posted to the blogs? Quite a few of them are being stamped with the wrong time, usually a 1.5-2 hours into the future (It’s not a timezone thing, I’m aware the timestamps are EST).
For instance: http://chuckyball.mlblogs.com/archives/2011/04/another-1-0-loss-in-the-bitter-cold.html#comments
My comment (robsanto) was actually posted before friar phil’s response.

Thanks, Rob. Our PRO themed blogs have been converted to WordPress as the first step in an overall conversion of the MLBlogs community. If the blogger hasn’t set the correct timezone for his or her blog, it’s possible that a timestamp for a comment will appear to be in the future. I would expect to see this issue a lot over the next month. You should feel free to tell the blogger to go into Settings and pick a location. Thanks.

Thanks for the response, Mark. I don’t actually see a place to change the timezone for the regular mlblogs (non-Pro), and the mis-stamped comments I’ve noticed are from one regular blogger to another regular blog (not related to the PRO blogs at all)… Am I missing a setting somewhere?

There is a place to change it on both platforms, but I am talking about the new WordPress dashboards that hopefully soon will be part of all MLBloggers’ lives. Anyone using Movable Type dashboard can change setting.

Eric, while Michael is right, the No. 1 way is to follow the golden rule: “Comment on others’ MLBlogs the way you would want commented unto you.” Since we launched this community in 2005, that is the No. 1 way for an MLBlogger to get traffic. Just comment sincerely on other MLBlogs and always leave your name and most importantly your full URL on the bottom of your comment. If you care, they will care. Plus, you make new friends in the blogging community. Works every time!

I have a question I do you get to be on the Top 100, I post everyday and how do you get your post more out there in the public.

Eric, consider creating a twitter and Facebook for your blog. Get your friends to tell their friends. It really helps!

Awesome! In the Top 50 AND on the home page?! Wow! Thanks to all the readers, and I’m excited to be part of such a great community! Orioles are 6-3, here’s to 1st place! :)

2131 and Beyond: The games. The news. The experiences. The Orioles.

Thank you Emma, and thank you as well, Mark. I appreciate it. I was going crazy there for a while, thinking I’d checked something off or clicked something and didn’t know it.

Beth,
I posted a comment in your blog, and it is working.
I am back at work after spending the weekend in San Diego to see my Dodgers. Wish I was in SF for the three games there but I got to work to pay for my baseball addiction!

So with the switch to wordpress comIng for fan pages I was curious if page hits will be counted on mobile devices since wordpress has a mobile format that is different then viewing the full site version.

Can someone here help me with something? Someone post a comment on my most recent entry — I’m trying to see if the reason I haven’t been getting any comments is because people can’t, or because they just don’t want to. I’ve got comments enabled, but maybe something else is going on. I’d appreciate it, whoever does. Thanks!

Congrats all around!! I like how you’ve identified the blogger pics this time around (and not just because I’m one of them). In the past I’ve always wanted to know who they were; I hope you do this every month. :-)

Congrats to everybody who’s on the list! I’m so happy to be making the list for the first time, thanks to everyone that reads it!

Congratulations to everyone on the list and thanks to everyone who reads and comments on my blog! MLBlogosphere IS the best blog ever :)

Congratulations to everyone who made the list, especially the first timers! Thank you to everyone who has dropped by my blog and many thanks to my fellow bloggers for continuing to provide such great perspectives on the game.

Dude! Mark! The new blog format looks awesome on iPad! The way you can swipe through the pages us so cool! Please, please PLEASE tell me that the Fan Pages will be something like that. I also liked how the Curly W blog looks. They have a slightly different format as well.

Mark,
When I clicked on it, it went to google search for “Best Blog Ever” haha.
.
I got #24! which reminds me of what Vin Scully was saying in one of the game broadcasting from Colorado. He said that Jim Tracy has a picture of Walter Alston in his office! Nice!
Congratulations to all on the list, especially to Rays Renegade! His blog reigns supreme!
.
Thank you that have visited my blog.
Think Blue Not Violence
Dodgers Fans against Stadium Violence

Congrats to all who made the list and thanks for spreading the word. Be sure to click the link for MLBlogosphere in the PRO rankings. :)

#20 is a step up from February, so I’m grateful for that. I hope people continue to come by, read, leave comments…..all that good stuff. I always appreciate the conversation. :-)

Congrats to the Rays Renegade again, a stellar blog. A big thanks to all who frequent the Rockpile Rant. Even not being able to upload pictures on a regular basis hasn’t had an effect on the Rants position from last month, that’s solid. I see that Zack Hample has joined the ranks of fan bloggers? Welcome brotha, nice to have your back. Chug on fellow bloggers, get over a thousand hits a day and you too could rock first place…D

Congrats everybody! Especially the new members to the Top 50.

Wow!
Got to first and foremost thank you, the readers and my fellow bloggers of MLBlogs.com who visit, comment daily to my posts. Always a pleasure to hit some of the new blogs, then cruise by some of the MLBlogs.com faithful to see the great news, aspects and opinion s that drive this site onward and upward. Just got back from the Rays afternoon contest, and this surely helped to raise my siprits.
Again thank you all, and I hope the new MLBlogs.com changes take all of us to that next level.
