Commenting

Many of you have encountered some commenting/login obstacles in recent weeks, trying to comment on certain MLBlogs and being told you need “permission” on some and not on others. Hopefully we have just fixed this problem in time for the first live games. We have refreshed configurations designed to speed up the system and that seems to have done the trick. Please let us know here if you continue to experience these issues around the MLBlogs Network.

Also, here are a couple of links for those of you who like to “dedicate” your Latest Leaders rank:

Remember to follow us @mlblogs if you are on Twitter, or go here.

Get your MLB.TV! The first live games are coming Wednesday, and if you are as fired up as I am about Lincecum vs. Grady, followed by the AL MVP ballot bash (BOS vs. MIN featuring Pedroia, Morneau, Youk and maybe Mauer), then be sure you are subscribed so you can watch all that live on your computer and blog while you are watching. Here is my story on MLB.com about the long-awaited return of live games…add to the comments and blog away!

I tried to leave a condolence for Keith Olbermann and was unable to. Said to contact the webmaster. Time: 1015 am central time

Mark,

I had the problem here, as well as on Weather & Baseball and one other this morning.

Mark, not necessarily the “permission” issue, but twice this morning when I clicked on the “sign in” link to comment on a blog (two different ones – once from Julia’s, once from pagevalnat), instead of giving me the sign-in screen, I was taken to a blog page from last summer that was about all-star voting. Do you have a gremlin in your system? I navigated back out to the mlblogs.com home page to finally sign in.

Hi Mark. We Doger fans are still waiting for Manny to sign. I myself am excited about going to Spring Training next week. Russell Martin and Jonathan Broxton will be missing though since they both went to practice for the WBC. Oh well. I have impatiently waited for ST to start. At last!

pagevalnat you need to do the same thing…always include your full URL under your name.

Wazzu, trust me, I feel your pain. But do something for me, OK??
Find my MLBlog (http://go-nasty-nats.mlblogs.com), and see if you can comment there. If you CAN’T, come back HERE and let Mark know. (Same thing if you CAN.) The last couple of paragraphs in my latest blog are there for EVERYONE to try and help me (and everyone else) get this straightened out.
Oh, and one other thing. Give the name of YOUR MLBlog when you comment here (after the word “me”). That way, the poobahs here will know what’s up.

Oh, for the love of Ken Griffey Jr! I give up. I have tried repeatedly to comment on Jim Street’s MLB blog to no avail. When I go to sign in, it gives me the little green “getting that page for you miss” boxes at the bottom of my screen. When it’s done, the comment box is gone. I thought actually getting to sign on HERE was a small victory, so I tried again to go to Street’s blog and now get the “permission? You have no stinking permission.” to comment. Please help, we(the Mariners) are horrible enough; we don’t need the added humiliation of not being able to talk about how bad our team is.

Oh, and let’s add Plunking Gomez to the list of blogs I’m NOT able to leave comments on.
“Fixed in time for the first live games”, huh?? There’s a BETTER chance of Bill Clinton getting a b.j. from an intern, before THIS gets fixed!!!
It’s frustrating, DO YOU HEAR ME??? “Hell Week” for the Nats, and now THIS??? How about I stick a shotgun in my fricking mouth, and pull the trigger?? How’s THAT sound?? LMMFAO

Mark?? It’s ME, again:

I tried to leave a comment on ASOTOBrit’s blog, and got…you GUESSED it…”You do not have permission…, etc., etc.”
Now, I don’t know what to do, seriously. Apparently, you DIDN’T get the memo from Julia (which, incidentally, she shared with me in an e-mail earlier today…only because I e-mailed Jen about how I’m NOT able to leave comments in HER blog).
Help, PLEASE??? LMMFAO

Mark – this is your secretary Julia checking in! I am still the only blog that Gary over at http://go-nasty-nats.mlblogs.com/ can comment on. He has tried all the things you have suggested and NONE of it works! Could someone PLEASE show this Nationals Fan some love? (BTW – the Nats fans REALLY need someone to love them!!) Thanks! We all want Gary to be able to share his baseball love with all of us!

I just received this while trying to login:

Okay … I found some love amidst the hate. Julia may pass out from shock reading this one.

Those links are so helpful! Thanks, Mark! And I can’t wait until I get to see those spring training games. I’m so excited, you have no idea. I’ve always been excited for baseball season, but having this blog has made me more excited than ever!

Things have been MUCH better for me re: commenting lately. Thank You.

Can I pretend I was #51 and dedicate my standing to Willie McGee? It certainly would be fitting with my Great Jersey Debate post! 🙂

Ok,
I don’t know how this works but I have a story for all the bloggers nonetheless (lol).
Ok so (I feel I should start it out with ‘ok’), I was reading my Chemistry textbook for once and they made a baseball reference! We were learning about how the number of orbitals increases with each principal energy level (WHAT??) Baseball translation: The farther away you get from the field, the more space you have! Honestly, if I had not thought of it in baseball terms I would not have understood it.
I don’t know what you expected with this post. If I did it wrong, I’ll re-comment.
