Next stop Spring Training

We’re somewhat randomly spotlighting blogs on mlblogs.com these next few weeks that will showcase the collective excitement of the countdown to pitchers and catchers reporting on Valentine’s Day. Feel free to leave comments here with your URL as no one can keep up with the Recently Updated Weblogs automated feed. Plus, I’ve got a Manhattan Half-Marathon Sunday morning at Central Park, am a few pages away from finishing a 235-page book manuscript so I just see what I can! Was able to help Twins pitcher Kevin Slowey get his blog up and running this week, and he took it from there while appearing in the Twins Winter Caravan; hopefully he’ll want to be a regular this season. Not sure how many Twins pitchers can top the prolific blogness of our friend Pat Neshek, though! Welcome to all the other rookies who have joined The Show here, have had a bunch of signups this week, like the latest Pirates blogger and another Cubs fan who is hoping to "experience" the 100th anniversary of the last world championship in style.

In case you’ve ever wondered — this is your traffic king on MLBlogs. Good place to drop an occasional comment and leave your URL as a breadcrumb. That’s Josh, the head of media relations for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is one faithful blogger. Speaking of the Dodgers’ front office, Tommy posted again earlier today. For any rookies here, Mr. Lasorda saved the first-ever MLBlog post on April 19, 2005 — a tribute to his friend Jackie Robinson. Archives

We just released the master schedule (subject to change) this week, have been updating the schedule links on MLB.com, and I wrote this story that was on the homepage Thursday-Friday. What are your own highlights on the 2008 MLB schedule? Happy blogging…
