Spheroid: Mad Dog Reports
MLBlogosphere had to find out more about the blogger who took the psycho.mlblogs.com domain, so here are Nine Questions for a Yankee fan named Dave over at Mad Dog Reports:
1. Why do you blog?
Baseball is oozing through my pores. I’m a frustrated commentator and reporter, who has finally (it’s taken many, many years) found his little niche and opportunity to let an unsuspecting world read my my barking and ramblings. This site is a wonderful place for people like me, who waffle the ears of those who pretend to care, to share views with. Thank the Lord for MLBLOGS.
2. What was your favorite post?
It sounds blah blah blah, but really it was my first one. The feeling of exhilaration and excitement, as I firstly wrote, then pressed PUBLISH, sent a shiver through my spine. It felt like years of relief lifting off my shoulder, finally.
3. What was your strangest blogging experience you’ve ever had?
Nothing strange yet, though every day I’m finding something new to add to my site to make it look better and exclusively mine. No doubt, as with anything in life, something unusual will come along.
4. Favorite blogs, including at least one MLBlog:
I have to say in my limited time on the blogs, the Mlblogosphere is fantastic, it’s incisive and informative, also humorous. Fellow Yankee blogger Mark it Down and Orioles nut Daryl’s Place are extremely good reads.
5. What would you be doing if you weren’t blogging?
Well, sad to say, I’d be paying more attention to my wedding arrangements — I’ll rectify that anomaly. Watching more regular TV and eating when the meal is made, not after it had gone cold . . . I’m sad, really.
6. Where do you think the blogosphere is going?
It can only get even better. It’s great to have the likes of Tommy Lasagne (!) and Dan Haren blogging, getting into a professional’s and a Hall of Famer’s thoughts. We can learn a lot off them. Hopefully some day I’ll be on the Big Blue Box like them.
7. Favorite team and why?
Well, I’m a typical glory fan, unfortunately. I’m from Ireland, and Baseball gets little to no coverage back there. All anybody knows is the name New York Yankees. The old brigade of Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig and Yogi Berra are well known names in Europe. So when a friend of my mother brought me back a Yankees shirt 25 years ago, I was officially hooked. Internet and imported newspapers kept me in touch, and now I’m living here and I’m like a kid in a candy store.
8. What is the one thing people don’t know about you?
I like Opera . . . I guess everyone knows now, ha-ha.
