Roy Halladay and a theoretically improved Toronto Blue Jays bunch open their season at home tonight against the Twins, so this is an especially good time to feature the Spheroid behind Canadians Love Baseball, Too. Nine Questions for Todd Devlin:

1. Why do you blog?

I have an unhealthy passion for the game of baseball and blogging provides yet another outlet for me to enjoy the game.

2. What was your favorite post?

I don’t think I have a favorite yet, for the simple fact that I am just starting out. I also find that when I look back at what I have written, I just end up criticizing my own work and thinking, “What does this guy know?”

3. What is the strangest blogging experience you’ve ever had?

I started my blog quite secretively, without letting anybody know about it. Sure enough, shortly after my first post a former co-worker messages me with, “Hey, blogger.” For the most part, I think that I am the only one that follows it. Once I get the hang of it though, I would definitely appreciate some readership and, more importantly, helpful feedback.

4. Favorite blogs, including at least one at MLBlogs:

I like following the blogs that take a look inside the clubs. Once Inside the Rangers gets going again, I will definitely enjoy reading that. I had the pleasure of meeting Gregg Elkin at the winter meetings in Dallas and I look forward to hearing about what he is up to.

5. What would you be doing if you weren’t blogging?

Something productive perhaps (well, probably spending more time on my fantasy team to be honest with you).

Carter6. Where do you think the blogosphere is going?

I think blogging will continue to rise. Why not? It’s an extremely easy way to voice your opinion and a great hobby at the same time.

7. Favorite team and why?

Toronto Blue Jays, and well before Joe Carter’s heroics in the ’93 World Series. I tried my hardest not to take the team’s success for granted during the glory years, but didn’t expect it would take so long for them to return to a contending ballclub. However, 2006 should mark Toronto’s first trip back to the postseason since that glorious ’93 campaign.

8. What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I have a twin sister who will never be able to comprehend my fascination with baseball.

9. Happiness is . . .

Sunny, warm afternoon watching batting practice and taking in all the accompanying sounds and smells.

Who says the Red Sox and Yankees can’t be friends?

In the last 24 hours, you may have noticed that our esteemed colleagues here at MLB.com, Mark Feinsand and Ian Browne, have started their own MLBlogs. Both are recognized by many for their longtime work on their beats, Mark with the Yankees and Ian with the Red Sox. To quote Mark in his latest post, "I’m sure we’ll have a little fun with each other throughout the season." Can’t wait to see both of their blogs on May 1, when Johnny Damon returns to Fenway for the first time.

The opening of a new season continues to bring a multitude of new MLBlogs. Welcome to Dan Haren, who will be on the hill Wednesday night in Oakland against the Yankees. It’s a great opportunity to leave comments and have them seen by a key member of one of the best rotations in baseball. Get a good look inside the world of a Major Leaguer with that blog.

What was that Opening Day really like behind the scenes at Philadelphia? Here are two great ways to look inside: Phillies Fun & Games with John Brazer, and The Baron’s Corner. The latter one comes from the mind of Larry Shenk, the dean of all Major League Baseball PR folks.

Opening Day goes on: Time for Minnesota at Toronto.

Today’s unread email from the MLB.com Fantasy 411 guys. And nice to see Klayman’s Katastrophes crank it up again for 2006. Especially since he sits right next to this blogger.
